Heart Disease Week

On the occasion of the Association’s 40th anniversary and to commemorate World Heart Disease Day, which is February 14th, the Association of Parents and Friends of Children with Heart Disease is planning the following events.


Friday, February 7th – Representatives of the Association have been invited by the management of the AMERICAN ACADEMY Larnaca to inform and raise awareness among students about the Association’s activities. The aim of the event is to educate young people about congenital heart diseases and to highlight the importance of supporting children who suffer from them.


Saturday, February 8th – A symbolic cycling event will take place, led by the well-known Cypriot cyclist Alexis Sokratous. The start will be from the AMERICAN ACADEMY Larnaca at 9:00 am, with the route including stops in Kiti, Pervolia, Meneou and Mackenzie, and finishing at Europe Square at 12:30 pm. The Mayor of Larnaca, Mr. Andreas Vyras, will be present to welcome and support the initiative.


Sunday, February 9 – An information and awareness day will be organized at NICOSIA MALL regarding the work and actions of the Association. At the same time, a bazaar and various activities for children will be held, offering an interactive and entertaining experience for the whole family.


Friday, February 14 (Morning) – On World Congenital Heart Disease Day, at 6:00 pm, an anniversary event will be held for the 40th anniversary of the Association. The event will be hosted at the Paschalis Paschalidis event hall of the Hellenic Bank building in Nicosia (Corner of Limassol & Athalassis Avenues, 200 - Nicosia).


Friday, February 14 (Evening) – As a symbolic awareness-raising action, various buildings will be illuminated in red, symbolizing the heart. This initiative aims to visually communicate the importance of raising awareness about congenital heart disease and to express support for the families affected.


These events reflect the Association’s commitment to informing, raising social awareness and supporting children with congenital heart disease through educational, charitable and symbolic actions. If you need any changes or adjustments, please let me know! 😊
